BBCOR, USSSA, USA Baseball, and wood bats are evaluated within their intended category. Scores should not be used to compare performance across certification standards. Confirm the required permanent mark with the player's league or tournament before buying.

- Certification, material, construction, stated balance, and intended fit
- Manufacturer-described technology, treated as a claim rather than an independent finding
- Current retailer price and attributed customer rating snapshot
- Editorial comparison against category peers
3. The provisional IPL score

The five underlying 0–100 signals are editorial estimates assigned from the current source snapshot; they are not standardized test results. IPL does not claim that a 96 versus 94 is experimentally reproducible. Small differences should be treated as practical ties, not proof of better field performance.
4. Current research limits
IPL has not yet completed a controlled firsthand testing program. Until documented testing is available, we will not claim to have independently measured exit velocity, swing weight, barrel size, vibration, break-in, durability, or consistency between individual bats.
When testing begins, every tested page will identify the tester, equipment, sample size, protocol, and date. Review the editorial policy for source and labeling standards.
